Prayer for “A Restoration of Wounded Hearts”

How many times have God’s children been hurt and offended? We may say, “I forgive, but will never forget.” When we say these words, we are holding a grudge under the false pretense of forgiving. Offenses will come, but they must not consume the heart. When a person dwells on offenses, there comes bitterness, envy, strife, jealousy, hatred, and anger. The list goes on and on. The joy of the Lord cannot dwell in an unforgiving heart. Jesus is our great example. He was falsely accused and crucified, He did no wrong, and yet He forgave all!

Pray:
    that God will restore wounded hearts with a pure and forgiving heart.
    that God’s Children will remember, “He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer” (Psalm 102:17).
    that the wounded heart will have a contrite and humble spirit (Isaiah 57:15).
    that God gives the wounded heart the strength to forgive. “But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses” (Mark 11:26).
    that God will give the wounded hearts a Godly love. Read Luke 6:35-38.
    that wounded individuals have a deep love and desire to draw closer to God. Pray that they will remember Deuteronomy 7:9 which reads, “Know therefore that the Lord thy God, He is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love Him and keep His commandments to a thousand generations.”
    that the wounded hearts keep their trust in God, who never fails.
    that the wounded persons will trust and not fear “for God hath not given us a spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (II Timothy 1:7).
    that the wounded individual understands and has faith that “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1).
    that wounded hearts will “trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
    that the joy of the Lord dwells in the heart of the wounded. “For our heart shall rejoice in Him, because we have trusted in His holy name” (Psalm 33:21).
